Connect to and share the land. All of our programs include education of the history of our land and meals prepared with local food foraged or farmed in our area.
Collaborate with community. In some cases, we have the skills to facilitate experiences. In other cases, we lack the skills or networks, and we open our space to other like-minded organizations to utilize as their own.
Care for our planet. Each program offers a community science or environmental conservation component. Our goal is for participants to leave Basecamp with deeper knowledge of their connection to our Earth—inspiring them to become exemplars of environmental care in their communities.
Create a physically and emotionally safe space. If you don’t feel safe, you can’t have fun. If you are safe, feel that you belong, connect to the land, and connect with others—joy is inevitable. This ethos enables us to truly welcome diverse audiences, and de-segregate our outdoor spaces.
