Our Teaching Philosophy

Empower: Whatever season of running you find yourself in, this course is geared to empower female-identifying trail runners to reground and set new goals for yourself both on and off the trail.

Inspire: Be inspired by an evening dinner, fireside chats, and a postural class with professional athletes who are all in their own season of running.

Create a sense of place: All participants camp at Basecamp every evening to review the day, unwind, and build community.

Our Story

At age 9 and 10, Katie and Ella met in Cabin 4 at YMCA Camp Dudley, surrounded by the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington. The towering trees of the Pacific Northwest and the surrounding snow-capped peaks planted the seed for their love for the outdoors. Twenty-four years later, that seed has flourished. Motivated by their own wilderness adventures ranging from a circumnavigation of Mount Rainier on the Wonderland Trail, a sunrise summit of Mount Whitney, completing the Gannett Peak Project to raise awareness of public lands, rafting the Tatshenshini-Alsek, and a rim to rim to rim trail run through the Grand Canyon, Katie and Ella hope to inspire more women to connect to wild places and help them develop the skills and experience to do it.
